I photograph couples and families who want to enjoy the experience as much as the photos — and walk away with images that, years from now, still remind them of exactly how it felt.

[ I’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU ]

Here's a little secret: you don't have to be a "photo person" to end up with photographs you absolutely love.

You just need someone who shows up genuinely curious about you — your stories, your people, what makes you ugly-laugh, what makes you tear up out of nowhere. I'm not trying to always blend into the walls. I'm right there in the room, actually interested, probably chatting up your grandma, and definitely pulling out a film camera and watching her face light up like she's seeing an old friend.

I've spent my whole career in rooms full of people feeling things together — first at concerts, now at weddings — and what I've learned is that they're not that different. There's always love and electricity and mess and grief and this undeniable sense that we're all just... human. I show up to document all of it, intentionally and honestly, because your story is worth remembering.

Hi, I'm Kayla!

I have a deep love for love. For connection, for music, for the outdoors, for novelty, for anything that gives you that feeling in your chest like something really matters. That's what drew me to wedding photography, and it's what keeps me coming back.

I work in a documentary style, which really just means I'd rather watch your day unfold than direct it. I photograph every wedding and session using both film and digital cameras. Digital helps me capture the chaos and fast-paced moments of the day, and film reminds me to actually slow down and play a little. I am so honored to share photographs that feel honest and real and beautiful all at once — so that 10, 20, 50 years from now you can look back at a life well-lived.

I.

Working with me isn't very formal. Before we ever pick up a camera, we talk — about you, about what you're hoping to feel, about what matters most. I want to know you before I photograph you.

II.

On the day, I show up calm, present, and ready for whatever the day brings. Sometimes I’ll guide ya into the good light, but most of the time I’m just paying attention.

III.

And then your gallery arrives — and that's when it all comes together. The moments you were too busy living to notice. The ones you didn't know anyone caught. The ones that make you tear up a little, because they look exactly how it felt.

It seems to me that for a moment so important in our lives, people’s perception of what they want out of their wedding photographer and what they actually end up getting are vastly different. Getting a “unique” set a photos that’s as special as our own relationships seems to be the goal - but more often than not many couples settle for the same generic “Wedding photography” style so dominate in our social media imagery today that really it creates the opposite experience. Kayla IS that unique eye, she IS the photographer you think of when you want something different, fresh, and special. She’s the real deal.

Someday, the people you love most won't be exactly as they are right now. The kids will grow up. The grandparents will get older. The moments that feel ordinary today will become the ones you'd give anything to go back to.

That's why this matters. Not just the photos — but having someone there who knows how to find the beauty in what's already in front of them, and preserve it with care.

That's what I'm here for.
