Your life—As Art
Honestly and intentionally documented on digital and film for the couples and families who want to remember how it felt.

It just needs a little room to breathe — and someone paying close enough attention to catch it.
My work is rooted in a documentary and photojournalistic approach, which is a fancy way of saying I observe before I act. I watch how your day unfolds, anticipate the quiet moments before they happen, and move with enough care that you forget I'm there at all. I guide when it's helpful and I step back when the moment speaks for itself.
Digital keeps me in the flow of your day as it unfolds. Film slows me down and makes me intentional. Together, they shape the way I see and keep me genuinely there with you.
What comes out the other side are photographs that feel like something. Candid but considered, honest but artful. Pictures that feel like you — now, and long after.
I.
Working with me isn't very formal. Before we ever pick up a camera, we talk — about you, about what you're hoping to feel, about what matters most. I want to know you before I photograph you.
II.
On the day, I show up calm, present, and ready for whatever the day brings. I'm not creating moments — I'm watching for them. The ones that are already there, already yours, just waiting for someone to pay attention.
III.
And then your gallery arrives — and that's when it all comes together. The moments you were too busy living to notice. The ones you didn't know anyone caught. The ones that make you tear up a little, because they look exactly how it felt.
“Where to even begin?! We have been working with Kayla for every milestone, from our first year dating to our wedding and beyond, for the better part of the last 9 years.
Kayla is one of the most earnest, whole-hearted photographers I’ve ever encountered. As a photographer myself, I always wondered who I would entrust my own most sacred memories with when the big life moments came: graduating, falling in love, getting married, and all the little moments in between.
Kayla has so seamlessly stepped into that role, building our trust, showcasing our most closely held beloved moments. When our wedding season rolled around, I not only had zero question on who to bring on as our photographer, I had the pleasure of wholly trusting Kayla’s eye and dancing the night away with someone who believed in our story and has become a dear friend.
Kayla is more than a photographer, she is a narrator in our tale. If you want your photos to build the legacy you share for years to come, you want Kayla.”
