Tender with people. Steady in the chaos.

My style & approach

Turning your memories into art.

My work is rooted in documentary and photojournalistic storytelling. I give your day space to unfold, observing first and stepping in with guidance when it’s helpful — especially during portraits and family photos.

I’m drawn to what’s real. The in-between. The movement. The quiet details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Because this is how I see a wedding day…

Think of this like opening a box of photographs years from now.

Move them. Let them overlap. Rearrange them.

Layered. Lived-in. Full of meaning.

Every wedding has its own pace. The coverage should honor that —

Weddings

Whether you’re planning a single day or a full weekend with your closest people, my role remains the same — to observe honestly, guide when needed, and document what unfolds with care.

Full Wedding Day Collections

8-10 hours of coverage, from getting ready through open dancing or your planned exit.

Wedding Weekend Collections

Multi-day celebrations including welcome dinners, rehearsal gatherings, farewell brunches, and more — allowing your story to unfold with greater depth.

Wedding collections begin at $6,000.

Each collection includes digital and film photography, 50–100 images per hour, and a thoughtfully curated online gallery delivered within 8–10 weeks.

Elopements & Intimate Weddings

Whether it’s just the two of you or a small gathering of your closest people, I approach these days with the same care and intention as any full wedding.

Less scale doesn’t mean less significance.

Elopements and intimate weddings begin at $1,500.

Coverage options range from 2-6 hours.

All collections include digital and film photography, 50–100 thoughtfully edited images per hour, and a curated online gallery delivered within 4–6 weeks.

Portrait Sessions

For engagements, couples, surprise proposals, maternity, anniversaries, creative portraits — or simply because.

These sessions are relaxed and collaborative. At home, outdoors, in a studio, or somewhere that already means something to you. I focus on connection, personality, and the small details that define this season.

Portrait sessions begin at $750.
Mini sessions begin at $400.

All sessions include digital and film photography, 50–100 thoughtfully edited images per hour, and a curated online gallery delivered within 2–3 weeks.

  • I love working with both because they each bring something different to your story.

Digital allows me to move quickly and adapt to changing light and fast-paced moments. Film encourages me to slow down and be even more intentional. It has a softness and depth that feels timeless and tangible.

Using both gives you the best of both worlds — flexibility and precision, alongside texture and warmth. The result is a gallery that feels cohesive, artful, and true to your day.

  • Yes! I’m based in Orlando, Florida, but I’m always open to traveling for weddings and sessions.

Whether it’s a nearby coastal town, a courthouse in another city, or a full destination weekend, I’m happy to build a custom collection that includes travel. Just tell me what you’re dreaming up.

  • I often photograph weddings solo, which allows me to move intuitively and unobtrusively.

That said, you can absolutely add a second photographer to any collection. I highly recommend it for larger weddings, when you’re getting ready in separate locations, or if you simply want the benefit of multiple perspectives throughout the day. A second photographer allows for more coverage, more angles, and more moments captured simultaneously.

If you choose not to add a second photographer, I may still bring an assistant, depending on the scope of the day. They help with logistics behind the scenes — managing gear, switching out film rolls, keeping things running smoothly — so I can stay fully present and focused on you.

  • Start by filling out my inquiry form. I’ll send over collection details and availability, and we’ll set up a call or meet in person if possible.

If it feels like a good fit, I’ll send a contract and invoice. Your date is officially secured once the contract is signed and a 50% non-refundable retainer is paid.

After that, we move into the fun part — planning together, getting to know each other, and making sure everything feels thoughtful and seamless.

We are in love with our portraits and all of the pictures she captured throughout the day. I’m nervous in front of cameras but with Kayla it felt like I was with one of my best friends. She took extra care throughout the day to ease my anxieties and was truly a pleasure.

I would recommend Kayla to any other couples that want to live in the moment of their day, have the special non-rehearsed moments captured, and get pictures that feel authentically you. We also love film photography and Kayla made sure to get our favorite moments captured on film as well.

Could not recommend Kayla enough!

There are lots of great photographers out there, but Kayla is so special. Not just for her talent, but for the presence she brings to your day. She is exactly what everyone needs, and I promise she will capture your day like no one else!!
— Kelly & Luigi

If you asked anybody at our wedding how our photographer did, they would tell you that they couldn’t believe how many photos one person could take! They weren’t lying, because we had such a large and well detailed album that perfectly encapsulated our special day.

If you want somebody who will go above and beyond for your wedding day, someone who will make your voice feel heard, your vision captured, and leave your friends and family speechless when they see those photos, do yourself a favor and go with Kayla Surico. I PROMISE you won’t regret it!
— Alan & Annaliese

What I love most about Kayla is that she gets all the photos without it being too much- I have been at weddings where the photographers were in the way or took the bride and groom from the wedding for hours or just got very repetitive pictures. Kayla got the perfect shots, but quickly and effortlessly. I felt super confident and at ease that she would not only do her job but go above and beyond. I am super impressed with her photos, as are my family and friends. Her photos are fresh, fun and really captured the spirit of my day.
— Christina & Giancarlo

I do not have enough words for how amazing Kayla is and how she made all my dreams come true. While being an incredible artist, she is professional and helpful every step of the way when it comes to your wedding. All my wedding photos are more than I could’ve ever imagined for my wedding day.
— Claire & Andrew

It seems to me that for a moment so important in our lives, people’s perception of what they want out of their wedding photographer and what they actually end up getting are vastly different. Getting a “unique” set a photos that’s as special as our own relationships seems to be the goal - but more often than not many couples settle for the same generic “Wedding photography” style so dominate in our social media imagery today that really it creates the opposite experience. Kayla IS that unique eye, she IS the photographer you think of when you want something different, fresh, and special. She’s the real deal.
— Noel & Christian

If this feels like the kind of experience you’re looking for, I would love to hear what you’re planning.
